In the PADI Open Water Diver course, your PADI Instructor takes you through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You start in a pool or pool-like conditions and progress to the open water (ocean, lake, quarry, etc.) getting the background knowledge along the way.
Earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification is just the beginning. As a certified diver, fabulous dive destinations, exciting people, unparalleled adventure and uncommon tranquility await you. And, as you continue your adventure and gain experience through higher training levels, your opportunities expand.
- Number of Dives: Five Confined Water Dives and Four Open Water Dives
- Knowledge Development: Five sessions
- Prerequisites: 10 for Junior Open Water Diver and 15 for Open Water Diver. Good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water.
- Materials You’ll Need: PADI Open Water Crew-Pak, PADI Open Water Video or DVD, Log Book.
- Equipment you’ll use during the course includes: mask, fins, snorkel, tank, regulator, buoyancy compensator, submersible pressure gauge and exposure protection as required by the local environment.

The ultimate way to introduce you to Scuba Diving, without the hassle of breaking the bank. Complete your Open Water in five steps within six months
First Step
In this first step you will receive your PADI Open Water crew pack and registration onto the course

Second Step
In this step you will
begin your confined diver training in the pool, this is where you start
to develop your basic scuba diving skills under the
guidance of an instructor for confined dives 1 & 2.

Third Step
This step continues on your confined water dive training and covers the skills in confined dives 3,4 and 5. You will have a better understanding of setting up your equipment . You will learn emergency skills and have some fun.

Fourth Step
The fourth step is to complete your quizzes and exam. By now You would have developed an understanding of the basic principles of scuba diving during your study of the five sections of your PADI Open Water manual.

Fifth Step
You will spend a weekend completing 4 Open Water Dives demonstrating skills that you accomplished in your confined water dives.
